My '86 wolfsburg came like that. With the antique cooked VW-Audi battery under the driver's seat. I later inserted the interior from an 85 westy and hooked stuff up the way I wanted it. Including powering fuse #3 in the main fuse box from the aux battery. If I'm going to be driving for several hours with fairly short stops, I run the fridge in AC mode off of an inverter that draws from the aux battery.
