Depends on where you live. My sister has an old bug up on a big mound of dirt in the field next to their house (they own the field). At Christmas they put lights on it. It has been written up in local papers as art.

They also have another old car in front of the house right next to one of the doors, which they use to store logs for the wood stove. I think that's the one that when the kids were younger they would let them paint with poster paints as a birthday party activity - so it could get redecorated after a few good rainstorms. And they have a TV and a parking meter atop another (smaller) mound of dirt to the side of their house. Those things have not been written up - not as visible as a bug on a mound decorated with lights.

But she lives in the country half an hour outside of Ithaca NY. I'm sure if they lived in a town, the neighbors would object to all of it and claim it brought down the value of their properties.
