If you've got original speakers, you can detach the faceplate from the old speakers using a dremel tool cutoff wheel. There are (IIRC) 4 plastic tabs on each speaker that you have to cut through in order to do the job. Put the speaker, faceplate down, on a table, and trace where it connects. That's where you cut.
