Yeah, the 12 point felt like a much better solution to me, but it was hard
to tell because I had had the cv joints done right after I bought the van a
year and a half ago, and when I was working on the other van it seemed
possible that maybe I was the first one to ever take them off. :)
But what I meant (and expressed very poorly with my "what makes the
difference" phrasing) was "I'm not sure what determines whether your van has
12-points or allens". Was it a particular year that it changed? Is the
12-point the original equipment and people replace with allens because they
are cheaper and/or more readily available?" that kind of thing.
