Hey Jim.
Air box I used: http://sites.google.com/site/tubaneil2/aircleaner
IIRC the Honda box shown is from a 2000. Bigger. Closer in size to the
stock ABA box.
If you have to, it's possible to flip the nose mount on tranny
allowing engine to be positioned further forward. The linkage
obviously needs to be shortened. (how I did it:
http://tinyurl.com/3y6v6km) OR, kill two birds. Reposition mount
brackets on bars to allow for hydro mounts and engine placement.
Yes. You need: DV FW, clutch housing, PB. Maybe Vanagon clutch bolts
on? And, DV oil pickup tube, pan engine brackets. I use a stock gas
starter no issues but with a KEP FW.
The '96 likely has OBD2 Motronic. It's *possible* this could be used
on a 1.8 counter flow head. Bonus: knock sensor and OBD! OBD2 Motronic
may need Jetta VSS sensor to run properly. Don't know how it mounts.
Digifant is obviously simpler. Personally I'd source Digifant parts
from a Jetta. There will likely be more choice in the used parts dept.
Neil.
