Okay... Continuing this discussion, Let's say I have a '96 2.0 ABA from a Jetta that I want to bolt it into an '84 Adventurewagen. Questions: 1.) fuel system? Digifant, right? Go scare up an '86 or later Vanagon and take it all? ECU, AFM, injectors, distributor and? Or do I snag the Jetta stuff? (The Jetta was junked because of immobilizer problems. A couple years ago. Don't know how much is left/missing.) 2.) Carrier bars? Late ones, right? The '82 bars won't work with the wasserboxer gear box? Positions motor 50 mm too far aft? Does that mean I need the entire post-82 engine carrier system? 3.) air filter. What to use? I seem to remember Dodge Caravan, but that might have been for adding a diesel. K&N is not an option in my world. 4.) clutch and flywheel? V'gon diesel? More questions to come I'm sure as we get closer to committing. Jim |
