When you RIP a MP3 at 320kbs... highest quality, you get about 70 songs per MP3 CD, and great audio quality... As our Vanagon's are not all that quite on the road, it makes for a nice road trip. I find the quality fantastic with my Sony, and with my original speakers! And others have also commented on the quality... so it isn't just me.

Keeping VW Van content in the thread... for those of us who grew up in the 70's... and loved the idea of VW Van Campers, ending up with the Westy's. I find the music appropriate for VW Vanagon Travels... the last CD he cut had a VW Van on the cover and he restored a VW van... http://www.yusufislam.com/ - The Former Cat Stevens - keeping the politics out of this thread please!

RE: Audio Quality, CD vs MP3 vs WMA etc.

Interesting observations. Just for kicks I'm going to take a couple of tracks from a good CD, rip as WMA and MP3, burn and then compare in my head unit. With my lousy ears and the inexpensive Pioneer head unit and cheap speakers I doubt that I'll be able to hear any difference but it's worth playing with.
