Hi Jake

Under laboratory conditions, sure.

But once you factor in the effect of wind noise, tire vibration, and the unusual (to put it politely) acoustical signature of a vanagon interior I would venture to say the quality difference narrows significantly.

When the van stops rolling and I am camping I usually prefer to stay away from canned music; I use the radio to keep up with the world through CBC news but otherwise I don't bother much with it. YMMV.

Happy Trails,
