Very OT, but years ago, I recall having a chat with an "old hand" mechanic
that worked at a local PetroCan. One of his stories stuck with me.


He was out in the middle of nowhere when a con rod bearing failed (old
truck). He cut a piece out of his leather belt and fashioned it as a
"bearing" shell.


Got him home and then some.
