Thanks, Neil:
Actually, this Pat is a she, not a he, and at age 65, my time of working on
engines myself has definitely expired. Hence this sale.
I don't know a lot about her history before I bought her a year ago. There
were no service records. But you're right about the front seats. Those
captain's chairs (in very good condition, BTW) were never original. I don't
know about the age of the transmission, though one of the mechanics who
worked on her said the tranny was in very good shape.

Works fine for me.
Scott: he's asking $2500 and it's in Vancouver B.C. as per his
previous post (quoted below)
Pat: do you know if a later model Westy interior was installed? Seems
like later MY front seats too?
Also, do you know if a later style transmission/linkage was installed?
(shifter looks like later MY)
Just asking for the benefit of the other listers. :)
Neil.
"VW Vanagon Westfalia 1982 - Handyman Special
If you love Vanagons and can invest a little time or money, then this is a
great buy for you. Lovely 1982 fully camperized Vanagon with clean interior
and exterior (a west coast van all her life - see photos) and good tires.
Assuan brown with a white Westfalia roof. Originally a diesel, but now
converted to a sweet 60,000-mile Jetta 1.7 litre engine. Upgrades within
last year include: new muffler; new catalytic converter; new battery; new
fuel system from gas tank to fuel injectors; new ignition switch; replaced
various running, brake and turn signal lights. Hard to start. Needs more
work. I've run out of money. Located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Priced to
sell at $2500. pmsloan@shaw.ca"
