dear letting my westie sleep with other mechanic or letting my westie attend mechanical swap parties

if i were you i would take scott up on his offer and book a few days off and drive up to medford to give your van a going over with him looking over your shoulder he is a good teacher .... and if you have any aptitude at all he will likely be simply supplying you with encouragement .. i have done several repairs in his yard ... and have discovered many more problems while there which he had the parts right there to remedy i r & r the items on my own van ... sometimes asking him questions ... sometimes getting him to simply give the repair the once over for quality assurance ... buy a bentley before you go so you can read up on the item to be repaired as you go along ...

pay scott for parts and time invested at the rate you both agree to feel good about ...and every one is happy

friendly word of advice .... while working at scotts shop you may be subjected to ... music you may like... talk about subjects you are likely to have a strong opinion on ... improvement of your vanagon ... even in parts you did not think required improvement sharing meals with dirty greasy fingers and few if any utensils

yours
