I agree with the folks who suggest a rubber grommet and continuous fuel line with no adapter. John if you're interested I would be happy to send a photo showing how mine turned out.

The grommet cost about 25 cents and therefore I recommend buying two or three of them in different sizes while you're at the hardware store. The first one I bought was just a little too small and didn't fit nice and tight, so I had to make another trip back to Part Source. Grrrr.
