I just replaced my front shocks with some inexpensive ones from Bus Depot and I am amazed. 84 low roof van with a kitchen and a 2.0 liter inline VW motor, manual tranny 2wd. I noticed my front end was lifting some on acceleration and that on uneven roads I was having some front-end sway. Then I saw these very reasonably priced shocks on Ron's page and thought "Why not try em? They are cheap, can't hurt much"... They were listed as Gabriel Shocks. They came in a CarQuest box and are badged as "Premium Gas Plus....VST, heavy duty" blah blah blah.... $22.95 each. Quite a significant improvement on my van, for sure. The ones they replaced still felt like they were working ok..They still supplied.even damping pressure on compression and extension. The old ones are unknown brand...all black exterior without any graphics and slightly smaller in diameter than the Bus Depot supplied Car Quests. Two for $45...and they work great! Don Hanson |
