A lot of conflicting advice from the usual web sources about whether a '72 to '79 engine compartment seal (the one with open foam on top and sealed foam below) can be pressed into service as an '80 through '82 seal. I understand that their is no flange for one side of the seal to grab on to. But at least the materials are known to withstand the ambience. Does anyone on the list have actual experience, good or bad, with the baywindow seal in a Vanagon engine compartment? Mark |
