With 300 points to hit, wouldn't it be easier to just dip the whole van in a vat of multi purpose lube?

Yes, some good savvy on WHERE to put lubricant and WHICH KIND would be welcome advice for everyone on the List. For instance...I was thinking about what you (Turbovan Scott) said regarding shifter linkage; I have a spare spray can of foaming motorcycle chain lube....would that be wrong or right in this circumstance? I used 3-in-1 oil on the felt pad in the distributor, because it's easy to dispense a drop or 3 and was handy...dumb?
