at Victoria airport, NE end (where there is often a privately owned Grumman Goose parked) , there is a PBY5A - Canso (Catalina variant).

Its owned by Buffalo Airways (flying in the NWT). They have a fleet of vintage planes, quite impressive, see here http:// www.buffaloairways.com/aircraft-fleet

This particular Canso is, I think, used as water bomber.

Victoria airport is a pretty good place for spotting unusual or interesting planes. Vancouver Island Helicopters is based there and they have a Kamov in service (http://www.vih.com/adminpages/ photoImages/Logging_Kamov_KHL.jpg), and I saw it delivered in a big Russian transport plane a few years ago.

Viking air is also based there, they do a lot of work on beavers, otters, twin otters etc.

Plus there are a few privately owned WWII piston planes, and Corsair was here in Sept.

ANd don't forget the pretty neat air museum (http://www.bcam.net/)
