Forgive the thin level of vanagon content, but after reading all the old airplane posts today ( saturday) I had to add something: For those of you WWII airplane buffs, and who isn't really?, I mean the sound and vibrations when one of those radial engine monsters cruises over!! I hope you have seen this NOVA production about a B-29 (kee-bird) crash landed near the arctic circle and left for 50 years till someone decides to get it running and fly it out. Guaranteed to bring tears to your eyes in the end.

Required Vanagon content: Watch the video, it makes Dave's point about the value of exercising extra caution as per driving with the gas on and fridge on propane - I do it all the time by the way - After all the time and energy and love invested in these vans and considering how they only get scarcer and scarcer. And of course, it offers a nice reminder just for those moments mid-way into the front blower motor replacement or engine swap, that there are even crazier folk out there, and if they can do that......... then, well.......... how about a solid layer of sound deadening over the entire van!

Sincerest apologies for the marginal van related content,

Sam in Santa Fe
