I started to do this once. got the B21F engine ( and the whole volvo car ) . ( the B230 is a 2.3 liter version of that engine ) the adapter from Kenedy.. but never got further.

there are at least 3 things making this a somewhat basic conversion in this partcular T3 Van .. it's a Double Cab.. so the hight of the engine comportment is a lot taller than in a regular vanagon .. roughly 6 or more inches there, and Standing the engine up is convenient.

I was going to go for tilted over at 50 degress.. but then you get spark plugs on the lower side ...not so desireable.

this engine just has a single carb.. how basic. the air fitler is minimalist too.. good for city and town use, but not on dirt roads.

and..if anyone would like to buy a low restriction K & N air filter for a 2.1 waterboxer vanagon or syncro .. I have one for sale, looks brand new.

I wanted to do a volvo B21 engine into a vanagon since those are super long lasting rugged engines. Almost can't blow up. I think a single carb version like this is about 90 or a hundred hp .

thanks for posting it ! Scott www.turbovans.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "M. Jade" <tinho2010@YAHOO.COM> To: <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> Sent: Sunday, November 07, 2010 9:58 AM Subject: Volvo B23 (B230) inline 4 in a T3 Syncro
