That said, large retailers like WM can order products from manufacturers that have different specifications(corners cut in the product but their name on it), & those retailers can offer them for less than the manufacturer's regular product? The key is that the part number or model has a slightly different # or name on it than normal, & the purchaser doesn't know the difference & thinks they are getting a heck of a deal from WM but in fact are getting an inferior product? YMMV, Mr. BZ-we talked about this a couple of months ago? > > Karl Wolz > > |-----Original Message----- > |From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of > |David Beierl > |Sent: Friday, November 12, 2010 10:35 AM > |To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > |Subject: Re: Group 41 Battery at Wal-Mart > | > |At 11:15 AM 11/12/2010 -0600, John Rodgers wrote: > |> Michael, I never understood that logic either! > | > |It may not be logic, but my experience is if you buy something from > |the factory you're going to pay full retail aka MSRP. > | > |I know a monastery that became a Seiko dealer so they could get cheap > |alarm clocks and wristwatches.... > | > |Yours, > |David |
