Pretty neat, Miguel..
My preference, however, in any 'system' is for Manual, whenever
possible... I went searching to find my vanagon, one without any power
anything, almost, and I much prefer having it that way. I am really not
fond of wasting my time trouble-shooting or repairing devices that probably
would not be problematic if not for their so called "convenience-factor" of
having them power-assisted and/or remote switched..
The only thing that can normally cause one of those Unity police-type
spotlights to not work is a blown bulb or fuse. No relays, no servos, no
extra wires and they've been proven, in everyday use since the 1950s..
Yeah, you gotta twist your wrist to move the beam around and it has to be
installed where you can reach it...but I have no problems with that. I
don't mind winding up or down on my windows, pushing down the door lock
buttons, selecting my own gears as I drive, etc.
If I drove a Sprinter or a Prevost where I couldn't even reach the ceiling
to turn a manual spotlight, or if you could hook the controls up like a
Formula One steering wheel for the remote spotlight...Now that would be
really cool! Both hand on the wheel with a couple of paddle controls to put
a million candle power beam anywhere you wanted it without taking your hands
off the wheel...
