I bought that trailer about 15 years ago for $85. For a long time it just sat in the driveway. The original red bottom had faded to Pink Pearl eraser pink. The lid was white. It went unlicensed for years. In Cali even littrailers get licenses. The sticker says it was made by the Ladybug Trailer Company in San Juan Capistrano, and the original registration put its manufacturing date at 1974. I can find no information in the nets about that company. Long gone without a ripple, I guess. I've never seen another.

Prior to moving to Oregon, I refurbished it with new wheels and tires (the original size are NLA), re-packed the wheel bearings, put on new electrical bits and lights, and generally made it ship-shape. Used it to haul my personal must-have living stuff behind my van to our new home in Bend. It tows beautifully.

After getting here and once settled in, I hired a fellow to repaint it in the same colors as Mellow Yellow (ivory tub with white top, to match the Westfalia poptop) and got the "Westrailia" sticker made.

And that's pretty much the history of that little guy. I love taking it camping. -- Rocky J Squirrel On Mon, 2010-11-08 at 10:26 -0800, Jake de Villiers wrote:
