I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Though Discount Tire has the look and feel of a giant tire corporation, there are better things about it, including price, service, and no shipping charge. Also, unlike most other tire dealers, they don't offer all sorts of other mechanical work, and then put unknowledgeable people to doing it. They only sell and service tires and wheels. They will meet or beat any price, local or online, and will not charge shipping, with no additional mounting and balancing charge (it is in the price).

If you buy online, you'll pay shipping, then mounting and balancing.

I like our Vanagon venders, too. I use them when it is best for me, and sometimes best for me includes just knowing that they are trying their best to provide the best parts and service for a Vanagon. But for tires, I think Discount Tire fits that bill, too. And I have no interest in Discount Tire other than a satisfied customer.
