This is of special interest to me (please refrain from political commentary regarding my special interest group) as I plan to conquer South America, and parts beyond, in my Syncro AW, and it does seem like a useful device. Several things to consider here. The hole you mention is never an attractive proposition. In my case, I would be drilling though fiberglass and you know how proud we can get over our high tops! Theft is another consideration, but, if I'm to avoid drilling holes, I will need to mount it high and out of the way. Coincidentally, high and out of the way is just behind the sun-roof, behind which exists some hardware (read : no drilling into roof) that a spotlight could be mounted to. I'm envisioning a telescoping, remote controlled spotlight.....or maybe just a maglite wielding monkey running around up there... Miguel
