Subject: Expansion Tank & Squealing Brakes

A few weeks ago I posted here about driving along thinking about how reliable my '85 Weekender has been since buying it back in June. A half hour later I found a puddle of coolant under it, and I suspected a crack in the expansion tank-it was, I ordered a new one and it hasn't leaked a drop since . The other issue, the front disk brakes squealing, well, not so lucky there. I pulled the pads and used the "disk brake quiet" goop and that helped slightly. I'm still missing the noise dampening plates, and my local dealer was able to find the piston side ones, but not the others. So, until I get those installed, I came up with a temporary solution: I just installed a new stereo! : - )
