Subject: Re: Exhaust Flange Gaskets and torque

I have received a couple of emails regarding the torque for the exhaust flange bolts/nuts. According the the Bentley, the M8 hardware should be 14ftlb from what I saw. Did I see something wrong? My engine is a Digijet. I have seen additional torque values on these bolts and nuts as being 15ftlb. For other versions, it is as high as 18 or 22. Is there something that properly defines the torque that I need to use. I can then correct the Bentley for my van.

William
