Good job on the vid and audio.
I'd describe it as a 'rattly almost knock' .
first thing I would do is make sure it's not anything to do with
accessories..
could even been a loose alternator mounting ..
so run with belts off ..
listen carefully to timing belt area,
and if not there ..
consider if it's anything to do with cam or cam sprocket or head etc.
that leaves the bottom end..
which it does seem to be coming from by the deep tone of the knock.
to explore that I'd start by taking out the intermediate shaft ..it comes
right out after t-belt and distributor are removed.
before undoing the two bolts that hold it in I'd check end play on it.
that's what it sort of reminds me of .. excessive end play on a shaft ..
like cam, intermediate shaft, or even crankshaft.
so pull-push on crankshaft too.
It doesn't go away with clutch pushed in does it ?
as for rod bearing, main bearing, wrist pin bushing in rod, or wrist pin
loose in piston ..
seems more 'nebulous and deep' ..and not related to just one cylinder ..
I'd check compression before taking it apart ..
and valve clearance too..
and consider injectors ..
injectors can cause a knock sounds 'sometimes' though it doesn't sound like
it would be that.t
my suspicion right now , so far, is on something like intermediate shaft.
get our your hardwood listening stick ( I like those better than a
stethoscope )
and listen all along the block starting with the distributor ..
and listen to that very carefully too.
and make sure it's not a loose engine mounting bracket or something like
that too.
and ...look for metal particles in the oil pan . Like bearing metal.
I've seen a fair number of eaten out intermediate shaft bearings. ..
what fun.
