Let's put it this way -- don't do it again. Your van's guardian angel might quit in disgust and let you take your lumps. And if you would take my earnest advice -- you had several opportunities to stop, pop the hatch and figure out what was going on and whether you needed to hitchhike home.

If folks would ask themselves the question "Is driving the next {half/one/two/five/whatever} miles worth three thousand bucks for a new engine?" I think we'd have fewer sad driveway stories here. It's an aluminum engine. Overheating is most definitely not its thing.

I suspect we haven't heard the end of this story.
