This is a bit drastic, but if all else fails you could smash it and remove the pieces.

Personally I think the convex mirrors were invented by the devil, as they make it impossible to accurately judge what's going on on that side (for, among other things, backing down). I paid serious money to put flat glass over there. But that's me.

Now the little square-with-a-round-corner stick-on mirrors I think are just great.
