http://www.etrailers.com has very similar 1500# and 2000# winches for $65 and $70 respectively, sans cable. They have a 20-foot 1/4" cable with hook for $18. This arrangement looks so much better than using a come-along in similar fashion that I reckon I'll be getting one.
