Actually, I've never been hasseled with my Virginia antique plates. However, this time I was required to show that I own another vehicle as my primary mode of transportation. In other words, I could not own just ONE vehicle in the state of Va. with antique plates. this presented a problem for me since my "other" vehicle is my company car, which I do not "own". Luckily, I remembered my 17 yr old daughter's New Beetle, which does happen to be registered in my name. Jeff

Yeah, I've thought of that possibility. I figure "occasional transportation"
is exactly what I use my Vanagon for. Plus, being in the brotherhood of
Vanagoners, our club activities include camping and similar use. It's hard
to imagine that being a priority for any law enforcement official. I was
more concerned about the insurer but the policy stipulates less than 7,500
miles annually.
We'll see how it goes.
