This talk about camper heaters...I just replaced the remote thermostat on the one in my SOs pop top slide in truck camper...It is a Suburban brand propane vertical mount one that we have used for about 10yrs.. It's small enough to fit into the bench seat of a vanagon or perhaps under the cab behind the fridge. It works great, with good temperature control and heats up her camper in just a few minutes of 'on-time' then it cycles off. It is a bit noisy but you get used to it...I'm not used to hearing mechanical noises when "camping".. but it is nice to have the heat sometimes, especially when it rains and things are wet..

I always hear "Propex" on the vanagon list. Just offering up another brand that we have used without problems...not saying it is better..just an additional choice available at RV suppliers around and parts are pretty common.
