The burnt valve symptoms were the obvious "missing", especially under load. Finding out about the burnt injector tip was initially noticed when removing the injector prior to removing the head. At first I thought it may have been the injector, but a compression test verified that the exhaust valve was burnt.

Burnt injector tips can cause one of two things - slight misses throughout the power band OR the exhaust to run rich in that one (or more) cylinders IMHO. -- Jim Thompson 84 GL 1.9 "Gloria" 84 Westfalia 2.1 "Ole Putt" 72 411 Station Wagon "Pug" 75 914 1.8 "Nancy" Full Timing Since March 1999 oldvolkshome@gmail.com http://www.oldvolkshome.com *********************************** On Wed, Nov 24, 2010 at 4:27 AM, Rey Wood <boscobelle@live.com> wrote: > Thanks for your input.
