yup, the rubber and metal interface parts seem to fail more often in the cold (duh?).

I mentioned the clutch master and slave as they failed on me when it was cold.

Yeah. I bet I don't shovel the snow around the Vanagon as often as I should. And I bet it's going to be very cold working on it if I have to. There's a faint coolant smell right now that apparently I'm going to have to get underneath to look for. Not the head-to- aquarium seal, it's not cold enough yet for that to drip.
