I'm sure that the Mexican dealer will be happy to sell one, but getting it registered legally here is another matter altogether.  The VIN will trip you up. You have to go through a registered importer like this one: http://www.autostadtwest.com/ And that's only if the vehicle is on the official list of vehicles that the registered importer can legally modify to US codes. Of course, stuff does happen.  A year ago, while spending a couple of days in Captiva, I didmeet some people from Illinois that had gotten that specific vehicle across the Canadian border and somehow registered in that state.  I suspect they were lucky. I mean, lots of humans walk across and seem to stay in the US so why not a few "naughty"  2.5 TDI T5's?
