I recently went for Rocky Mountain Westy's new Twin Peaks plate bumpers.

See pics at http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=429711&postdays=0&postorder =asc&highlight=rmw&start=180

They are very well made, the rear step allows nice access to the roof/pop top plus the receiver hitch section is incredibly heavy duty.

I pity the fool that rear ends me.

Andrew

Ps. The front RMW bumper also gives great access to the Westy luggage rack!

Never had the rear bumper problem - but then I have a hell-for-stout Haynes bumper hitch mount on the back of my van. That thing will do some serious damage to the front end of an un-attentive drivers car, should someone decide to tap me. Of course a pickup truck might be a different matter. But I do like that hitch.
