Spiny Norman can do pretty much whatever he wants, can't he? Didn't he push Doug Dimmesdale around a good deal, and nary a thought of nailing his head to a coffee table?

Boston Bob recommended for longevity to not exceed 4000 rpm on a regular basis. The motor will refuse to go above ?5500? or so by cutting off some or all of the injector pulses. If you were rolling down a steep hill and the revs got out of hand I wouldn't be totally surprised if it upshifted for you. Dennis or somebody will know for sure.

On the kick-down -- it's different from other cars I've driven. You go to full throttle and nothing happens -- then you go another half-inch against a much stronger spring and it downshifts if you're not going too fast.
