I'll second the Castrol purple product. I really, really don't like the smell of Simple Green. Takes a long time to get rid of it.

I usually use a commercial degreaser from a janitorial supply house (brand pretty much irrelevant - tell them you're trying to remove petroleum grease rather than food grease as there is a difference); be careful to not let it set on aluminum for any period of time or it will etch.
