Well then my Jetta Inline vanagon sounds more like a Moog then. Or maybe a violin..well a fiddle(we wouldn't wanna be pretentious, it is still a Volkswagen motor.... It is really kinda high frequency sounding compared to the boxer motors.

Now that I have the exhaust properly mounted and a nicely tuned custom header system, I always think my clutch must be slipping, or something...because it winds out so quickly, even starting in second gear like I do with the 5sp manual tranny. I look at the tach and see 4k rpms...and it just begs to have some gas...At 6k, it is starting to go..."Ok, boss, you can shift me any time you want" and around 3500rpms it says "Come on, Dude, don't get lazy, downshift if you want me to be happier"..

I imaging it's a much different sound than a normal WBX or AC flat motor...No clatter at all like a Beetle motor, and certainly no "harley-note" like the subie boxer motors sort of have.
