And he's got a fridge to keep his beer in. ;)

Doug: If it's a hose, somewhere in the archives there's a FLAPS type rad hose substitute list.

Here's one from thesamba that should help you fit a FLAPS hose if need be:

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=267876&highlight=hoses

From that thread:

"I was not able to find stock radiator *hoses* for my 1983 1/2 1.9L (with stock steel tubes) at my usually sources or on line so I dragged my old * hoses* down to my local NAPA and compared them with *hoses* hanging from the walls. For the feed hose I bought a NAPA #8523 hose that had appropriate bends and just needed some trimming off of each end and for the return hose I bought 28 inches of straight 1 1/4 hose, NAPA part number 605. Both *hoses * installed easily. "

I don't recall exactly what hoses I used, but this is what I did (Gates brand IIRC) for my front rad. (as per a 1.9 WBX cooling system)

Best of luck,
