Subject: What is this fitting, nearby the thermostat?
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

Folks,

There is some device about 2 o'clock of the termostat housing. THere is a little sticking out of it, and no hose attached. 1989 Syncro.

I put a picture here: http://picasaweb.google.com/syncronicity1/OddFitting#5546245844548203954with an arrow pointing to this fitting / nipple with no hose attached.

I flipped through the Bentley in the fuel section, the "rear locker actuator" section, and sample a few others. Can't figure out what it is. The device seems to have some type of banjo bolt attached.

Also, I found a black hose, rather small diameter, hanging loose in the same general area. I traced it a bit, it goes down below, and then between the transmission mount and the gas tank but could not follow it to its other end. The hose was jammed into the little bundle of cables and stuff around the coolant bleed circuit at the "firewall".

I have a suspicion that maybe the 2 go together, but don't want to connect them unless I understand more. Possibly some service tech disconnected this, jammed the hose behind this bundle, and forgot to put it back on? Or for all I know, this has been disconnected for some time now.

Thank you! Roland
