I was curious about that. Had cause to search vagcat recently for that part. Appeared in some diagrams as per your comment. And IIRC, might have been present on some VW diesels.

Finding one from a (Mk 2 ?) might get one cheaper than an actual Vanagon L board.

My L board lives in a box below the cluster. ;)
