If the DOT5 fluid is not completely soluble in DOT4, you won't get it clean that way. I don't know about colors, sorry; although blue-green might indicate copper contamination from brass or copper parts in the bleeder. If google or someone here doesn't help you, talk to manufacturers of brake fluid.

Store it empty and dry. Use new fluid from sealed i.e. new container each time.
