As of now this is THE tire to get for stock size with proper load capacity.
While it does not particularly excel in any one characteristic it is a very
good all purpose tire that meets the Vanagon's requirements. The price is
also right. This is the perfect replacement for the original tires as
supplied on the alloy wheels at 1/2 the price of those Michelins when they
were available.

Here we go again,

Just happened to check how old my tires were and two of them are 2001 - well
over time to change.

Standard 14 alloys on my Beast - any prompts on where I buy and what price?
I have access to a new whizz-bang tire machine so I guess I could buy online
- depending on shipping add ons etc.

Your suggestions please.
