While not ideal, you can replace only one injector. It is extremely rare for one to suddenly fail though. I would look for a bad ignition wire as the ends sometimes short out or open. Yes, they can fail both ways. Don’t waste your time or money on fuel system cleaners. Also check the spark plugs. A plug can sometimes get carbon fouled (shorted) and not make enough spark to ignite the mixture and keep itself clean. Two problem cylinders on the same side could indicate worn guides or cylinders with too much oil on the bottom. Short cycling these engines can often cause the plugs to foul.

Well Jeez... my van sat for 6 days while I was on vacation and now the injectors are not firing right.  I just dumped some berryman in the tank and filled it with super (chevron)   It has new plugs, cap, rotor, fuel filter and all connectors look good ~ popped each injector harness off and found one specifically that isn't firing and another that is hit/miss.   Besides the fuel cleaning what can do to free these up?   I just spent my $$$ on the vacation I'm returning from and don't have $600.00 for new injectors.   Thanks, Brian
