hey jeff  all the subies even the old 1.8 and 2.2 had problems , just  not
as bad as both of the 2.5L did even the SOHC and the DOHC.  I think  they
improved them in 2006 . On vannies it normally will take at least 2 bottles
of the subie stuff to work and even then I have seen some where nothing other
 than fixing them worked.  later  mark d
