I found the same thing with my replacement stereo. I think mine was about .4 amps. It's meant to be wired into a circuit that is only on when the key is on, but of course us campers will want to have the stereo when we are camped. My solution was to add another switch in the pod on the right. I think I used a rear defrost switch I had on hand. That is the power on for the stereo now.
