Hi Volks, When I bought my wife's 1988 Wolfsburg this past summer there was a HUGE hole in the top of the engine where two connecting rods had forced their way to freedom. In the process they did some mild damage to the central FI plenum and they busted up the lower cover for the throttle position sensor switch. When I moved the FI and cooling to the replacement engine I inspected the TPS and it looked like it was intact other than the missing lower cover. Unfortunately, it appears I was mistaken, as the unit will not stay in adjustment. I inspected it last night and found that the right hand side adjusting screw has a broken allen head and cannot be turned. At the moment the engine has a 3,000 RPM cold idle... After a minute or two (that seems like eternity) the engine warms up and the idle drops to normal. I plan to remove the throttle body and attempt some corrective measures tonight, but I figured that it couldn't hurt to find out if anyone out there had a spare 2.1 throttle body for sale and for how much. Delivery address would be M1B4C9, Toronto Ontario Canada.
