Wow... The similarity to a syncro drive is definitely there. Which raises the question: could a syncro transmission be used in a 2WD van to create a hybrid drive vanagon? Push the transmission the other way using an electric motor to spin the rear wheels. What an interesting idea.... Wonder how much the appropriate electric motor would cost?
