I've upgraded more than several - it's one of the things I do for a living.

The cleanest way to do this is to install Windows 7 fresh then re-install everything.

If you REALLY CAN'T DO THIS then the next best option is to upgrade from XP to Vista then upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.

This may seem odd but the direct upgrade path from XP to Vista works well and so does the direct upgrade path from Vista to Win 7. Both upgrades will pull your applications along with them.

Posting this late Friday, send responses by pmail please. Has anyone found a GOOD program for migrating from XP to Win 7? I mean one that actually migrates programs. Documents, etc are not a problem, that's done. And Zinstall has failed six times for me (In different configurations for the migration). And reviews on PCMover are not good. So, has anyone found a XP to Win 7 migration program that actually worked? Thanks
