The only real solution is to reinstall. At best these migration programs are 80% then there are the issues where the program don’t quite work right that you discover weeks later.

Clients offer the migration packages that were bought with their new PCs. And even though I explain that they are not perfect some clients still insist I use the software. In every case so far the cost for me to migrate then install those that did not pull over and finally to chase the weird problems that came up later exceed the cost of installing everything fresh. I’m to the point where I’m just going to say “NO”.

Thanks for the response Tom. But my problem is not upgrading a computer OS but migrating my programs to a NEW computer. Old computer running XP, new computer running Win 7.
